History
The Palestinian American Heritage Society (PAHS), founded in April 2023, is a non-political, non-religious organization dedicated to celebrating the diverse culture and heritage of the Palestinian people in Cleveland. As home to the largest population of Palestinian Americans per capita in the country, Cleveland is a vibrant hub for the community, and PAHS works to promote unity and pride among Palestinian Americans while sharing their rich traditions with the broader public.
In our first year, PAHS was appointed as trustee's for the Palestinian Cultural Garden in Cleveland’s Cultural Gardens and became a member of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation. We have also hosted the inaugural Palestine Film Festival, showcasing Palestinian cinema and offering a platform for Palestinian filmmakers to share their stories. Additionally, PAHS participated in Cleveland’s Parade the Circle and One World Day, engaging with other cultural communities and highlighting the diversity of the Palestinian people.
Our Mission
At the Palestinian American Heritage Society (PAHS), our mission is to honor, preserve, and celebrate the history, heritage, arts, and culture of the Palestinian people within the Palestinian diaspora. We are dedicated to fostering unity, understanding, and pride among Palestinian Americans and the broader community through cultural education, events, and community-driven initiatives. By promoting our vibrant heritage, we aim to build lasting bridges of respect and connection, ensuring that our cultural legacy flourishes for generations to come.
